In 2005, Mark established Bexon Search & Service to apply his knowledge of drilling operations resourcing requirements. Since then, he has built a reputation for the comprehensive technical expertise and regional knowledge of its consultant network. The company merged with Allomax (also founded by Mark) in 2014, forming BexonAllomax.
Mark started his oilfield career in Texas in the 1980s, working for Sperry-Sun, which, at the time, was a leading directional surveying company. After working as a surveyor in Texas his part in the company’s development was to justify the directional drilling (DD) business case and provide the marketing tools for economic analysis, forecasting and planning their international operations. He went on to lead the business development of an enlarged Directional and Mud Logging Sperry-Sun in the Far East. Mark also project managed the international launch of Sperry-Sun’s “Formation Evaluation while Drilling” (FEWD) systems as International Marketing Manager.
In 1992 Mark co-founded Allomax in partnership with Allott and Lomax, a top-quartile Consulting Engineering firm with a large nuclear and power practice, and very complete project management systems expertise. This PMS capability was at the core of our success in the Integrated Project Management (IPM) market, where we partnered with Halliburton to provide BP’s first outsourced IPM contract for the Harding oilfield development in the North Sea.
As Allomax grew we transposed our management understanding into stand-alone products, primarily in competence assurance (CASMAX), Project management and learning (DRILLMAX) and risk management (RISKMAX). Mark was responsible for product engineering and implementation, particularly our flagship CASMAX system adopted by BP, Shell, Hess, Kerr McGee, Lasmo and many others.
