FEED and ITT for Phase III of Karachaganak Field Development
The Karachaganak field in Kazakhstan is one of the world’s largest gas and condensate fields. Three international oil companies — BG Group, Chevron and Lukoil — combined with the Kazakhstan Government to develop possibility to order pills to fight erectile dysfunction the reserves through the Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) company. During the early 1990s the Karachaganak field was drilled and re-developed in two phases. In the third phase, KPO developed a US$ 3 billion drilling and workover plan to expand production wells to prolong and enhance production.
To implement the Phase III plan KPO required additional technical staff to complete the FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and tendering processes for the multi-rig and multi-well field development. Bexon Search & Service, now BexonAllomax was tasked with sourcing a team of drilling engineers and rig technologists for the detailed well design and drilling plan.
Issues to Consider
The wells project required multi-discipline and inter department co-ordination, and needed to draw together specialist know-how in drilling design, metallurgy, rock mechanics, production technology, civil engineering, contracts and procurement. The drilling team needed to fit seamlessly into this environment, and to be able to provide innovative solutions and work to the exact tender detail required by the Kazakh government.
What Bexon Search & Service Delivered
