His background is in journalism and computer programming, particularly in agile software writing and Internet protocols, extending to database development involving large data sets and visualization. The energy business has fascinated him since his first sight of a major gas pipeline at the age of seven, as members of his family designed and tested transport equipment for the high-pressure connection between Milford Haven and Seisdon.
